Lesson Plan 1 is anchored by my Feb. 11, 2020 visit to the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum in Dennison, Ohio. It’s a National Historic Landmark as the best remaining example of a WWII railroad canteen. Almost 4,000 volunteers kept the canteen open 24/7 for four years from 1942-1946, serving a total of 1.3 million servicemen. Lesson Plan has four themes/constructs including one on civic engagement and civic ideals.
