Editor’s note: On first arriving in Gettysburg to cover the Sesquicentennial of the Battle of Gettysburg in 2013, I noticed a home with a statue of a woman outside. I stopped and read the plaque. Much to my amazement, the statue was Jennie Wade, the only civilian to be killed during the Battle of Gettysburg….
