July 8, 2026 - Stories 250 will launch a Crosswinds podcast in advance of the showing of its documentary, Crosswinds: The Courageous Life of Cornelia Fort at the 2026 EAA AirVenture on Wednesday, July 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the Skyscape Theater at the EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The podcast will focus on the new in-depth analysis of Cornelia's BT-13 crash on March 21, 1943 that tragically claimed her life. For years, rumors have swirled that male pilots were doing barrel rolls over Cornelia's BT-13. Leslie Sargent, retired FAA inspector who is also a trained accident investigator and the Crosswinds aviation consultant, has analyzed the crash from evidence in the official U.S. Army accident report. The evidence does not support the rumors. The podcast will be posted on the Crosswinds website. 

June 17, 2026 - Stories 250 was recently at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania to cover Union Pacific's 'Big Boy 4014' national tour to honor the nation's 250th birthday on July 4, 2026. Big Boy is a massive steam locomotive that was built in 1941 and immediately put into service during World War II. Today, it's the largest steam locomotive that is still operable. Union Pacific spent five years restoring the locomotive to her glory at their steam shop in Cheyenne, Wyoming. On June 15 and 16 in Scranton, approximately 60,000 people came to view the locomotive. While there, Stories 250 interviewed Megan Stevens, Steamtown's public information officer. Steamtown is administered by the National Park Service.

May 31, 2026 - On June 1, Stories 250 is launching a new section to keep readers informed about current events. The new "Stay Current" section will include stories of current events that have historical relevance. In June, Stories 250 will feature its coverage of Union Pacific's "Big Boy" steam locomotive that will, for the first time in its history, travel east of the Mississippi River. Honoring the nation's 250th birthday, Big Boy 4014 is touring the nation this summer. On July 4, the massive locomotive, manufactured in 1941, will be in Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776.

May 23, 2026 - The BT-13 warbird featured in Crosswinds: The Courageous Life of Cornelia Fort, is owned by the National WASP WWII Museum in Sweetwater, Texas. In July, the WASP Museum will be flying the plane to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Crosswinds will be shown at AirVenture on Wednesday, July 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the SkyScape Theater in the EAA Museum. Leslie Sargent, retired FAA inspector and Crosswind's aviation consultant, will be available to answer questions on July 22 after the documentary. Viewers can then see the BT-13 in person at the flight line for a fantastic aviation experience.

April 29, 2026 - Crosswinds: The Courageous Life of Cornelia Fort, an 80-minute documentary produced, directed and written by Redwood Educational Technologies, will be shown at the 2026 EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Wednesday, July 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the SkyScape Theater in the EAA Museum. Cornelia was the first female pilot to die while on active duty. Before her U.S. Army career as a member of the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron, the WAFS, Cornelia was a civilian pilot instructor who was in the air with a student over Honolulu on Dec. 7, 1941 when the Pearl Harbor attack began.
