July 8, 2026 – Stories 250 will launch a Crosswinds podcast in advance of the showing of its documentary, Crosswinds: The Courageous Life of Cornelia Fort at the 2026 EAA AirVenture on Wednesday, July 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the Skyscape Theater at the EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The podcast will focus on the new in-depth analysis of Cornelia’s BT-13 crash on March 21, 1943 that tragically claimed her life. For years, rumors have swirled that male pilots were doing barrel rolls over Cornelia’s BT-13. Leslie Sargent, retired FAA inspector who is also a trained accident investigator and the Crosswinds aviation consultant, has analyzed the crash from evidence in the official U.S. Army accident report. The evidence does not support the rumors. The podcast will be posted on the Crosswinds website.
